Taking advantage of computer assisted human translation tools

The ALS service team takes advantage of computer assisted translation technologies (CAT Tools) like Trados, Wordfast, MemoQ etc. and relevant quality verification tools such as XBench.

Human Review

We adopt in principle that independent human corrections of a translation will serve as a mechanism to provide increased linguistic quality of the translated text.

Machine Review

We also use complementary verification tools and software programmes for machine corrections like Xbench or some QA plug-ins built in CAT Tools (verifiers). Such QA modules help to detect some significant quality problems which sometimes might be very time consuming for human reviewers.

For example, spell-check, double blank check, source same as target check, num-check, inconsistencies check, terminology check, empty or forgotten translation checks and so on.
